Most golfers don’t need another lesson — they need a breakthrough. A quick session with a local pro might adjust your grip or point out a swing fault, but it only scratches the surface. You leave with something to “work on,” then slowly drift back to where you started. Frustrated. Guessing. Wondering why improvement never sticks.
Golf Schools were created to end that cycle. This is not a lesson, and it’s not a collection of tips. It’s a complete development system used directly in the PGA Institute and refined over more than 20 years by Loic Truet. A former touring professional, once roommates with Adam Scott, Loic found his true calling in developing golfers properly — not patching them up. The same structured approach he has delivered to elite players for decades is now offered in an immersive format designed for real, lasting improvement.
The difference is immersion. Real progress doesn’t happen in 45 minutes. It happens when you step away from daily distractions and commit to full days of focused coaching, where technique, understanding, and the mental game are developed together. Every session builds on the last. Nothing is rushed, and nothing is left to chance.
Mark Hawley, founder of Golf Journeys and a PGA Institute graduate, went through this exact system as a student. Experiencing the results firsthand made one thing obvious — this level of improvement shouldn’t be reserved for professionals or elite amateurs. It should be available to club golfers or weekend warriors who are serious about getting better. Golf Schools exist because Mark wanted to bring a proven, elite-level program into an environment that everyday golfers could access, commit to, and benefit from properly.
Golfers leave these schools playing better, but more importantly, thinking differently. They understand why they do what they do. Confidence replaces confusion. Trust replaces doubt. Improvement no longer feels like a hope — it feels inevitable.
With multiple dates available throughout the year and a range of Golf Schools designed for different skill levels, goals, and group preferences — from beginner-friendly and ladies-only programs to mixed and advanced schools — it’s easy to find the experience that fits you. Choose the school that suits where your game is right now, and take the step that finally moves it forward.

Your week begins with arrival and check-in at the Mercure Gold Coast Resort, a relaxed, resort-style base set beside the fairways and designed to help you slow down from the moment you arrive. Take the afternoon to settle in, unpack, and mentally shift gears — this time is deliberately set aside for you and your golf.
As evening approaches, you’ll bring your golf clubs to reception for valet and check-in, collect your welcome pack, and officially meet the group. The night unfolds with a welcome dinner that sets the tone perfectly — with a beverage in hand you’ll get to taste fresh local produce, and genuinely good company. Conversation comes easily, laughter follows quickly, and any nerves disappear fast. By the end of the evening, the group already feels connected, and the week ahead feels full of promise.
After breakfast at the hotel, the real work begins with a short transfer to Loic Truet’s training facility at Emerald Lakes. The morning is spent in personalised one-on-one coaching, where Loic works individually with each golfer to strip things back, assess what truly matters, and bring clarity to your game. This isn’t about fixing everything at once — it’s about understanding your priorities and setting a clear direction that everything else will follow.
After a full morning of tuition, lunch is a welcome pause. You’ll settle into the air-conditioned comfort of the Emerald Lakes clubhouse, a cool drink in hand, overlooking the course. It’s a chance to relax, reset, and connect with the group as the morning’s work starts to sink in. Laughter flows easily, shoulders drop, and the tone naturally shifts from learning to doing.
Then comes something most golfers rarely experience — a true on-course lesson. Over nine holes, you’ll play with your coach alongside you, guiding decisions as they happen. Club selection, strategy, mindset, and shot shape are addressed in real time, where they actually matter. This is where range work becomes instinct, theory turns into feel, and improvement finally makes sense. You’ll return to the resort mid-afternoon with a clear head, and that rare feeling that something has clicked.
After breakfast, you return to Emerald Lakes with a very different sense of purpose. Today the focus shifts to the short game — the part of golf that quietly shapes confidence and separates good rounds from frustrating ones. Through structured, practical coaching, you’ll refine chipping, pitching, bunker play, and touch around the greens, learning techniques designed to hold up under pressure, not just on the practice area.
Lunch once again offers a chance to slow things down. In the cool comfort of the clubhouse, you’ll reflect on the morning, swap insights with the group, and reset before heading back out. By now, the group dynamic feels natural, the conversations deeper, and the learning shared.
The afternoon unfolds back on the course with nine more holes of guided play. This is where repetition builds trust. Decisions feel clearer, routines stronger, and confidence begins to replace doubt. You’ll return to the resort mid-afternoon feeling more connected to your game than you have in a long time.
After breakfast, you step straight into a day designed to let everything breathe. Palm Meadows sits right next door to the resort, making the transition from hotel to first tee effortless. Today is about playing — not forcing, not testing, just trusting the system and letting the work show up naturally over 18 holes.
With no rush and no pressure, this round becomes one of the most important of the week. You’ll notice calmer reactions, smarter decisions, and a growing belief that your game is no longer held together by hope. The afternoon and evening are yours to enjoy at your own pace — whether that’s unwinding by the pool, exploring the Gold Coast, or reliving the round with the group over a quiet drink.
The final day of tuition begins after breakfast with a return to Emerald Lakes for a closing morning clinic. This session is about refinement and ownership — sharpening what matters most to you, reinforcing key movements, and locking in a warm-up and practice routine you can rely on long after the school ends.
After your morning tuition, you head out for one final nine-hole on-course session. This is where everything is brought together, with your coach reinforcing decisions, routines, and mindset as they happen. It’s a confident, purposeful finish — not an ending, but a transition from guided learning to independent trust.
That evening, the group comes together for a farewell dinner with a little extra wow. With Loic’s French heritage setting the tone, the night features a French-inspired menu created especially for the group, paired with beautiful wines and shared at a table built for conversation. It’s a moment to slow down, celebrate the work done, and appreciate just how much has changed in a few short days.
Enjoy a final breakfast and a relaxed morning at the resort before checkout. While the Golf School officially concludes here, the journey doesn’t stop. In the weeks that follow, your coach will reconnect with you for a one-on-one online session, you’ll receive a complete training plan to take home and access to the Loic Truet teaching app which allows you to connect directly with Loic to check in on progress, answer questions, and ensure the clarity and confidence gained during the week continue to translate onto the course.
