We’ve been lucky to play this course when it first opened and have returned back many times since. When asked “What’s your favourite hole”, there is honestly no easy answer, there are just too many great holes to single one out. It’s pure links golf, as nature intended, & we won’t be surprised when this course makes its way into the top 10 in the world.

Ranked as the best nine hole golf course in the southern hemisphere. You would be remiss if you didn’t spend time playing this charming course in Currie. The course is mostly maintained and managed by volunteer members, and it’s the members themselves that also add to the experience. Pull up a chair in the clubhouse bar and have a yarn with them after your round.

Fortune favours the brave on this course. Heroic tee shots will set you up nicely for your approach, but a miss hit here or there and you’ll be needing to restock on golf balls at the pro shop. There’s some real cracking holes which rival some of the best in the world, so take your time to soak it all in and enjoy the experience.

Settled in 1822 by the Reid family from Scotland. It is Australia’s oldest golf course, and the oldest remaining outside of Scotland. Recently its new owner, Greg Ramsay, who was also the mastermind behind the Barnbougle development, has restored the property turning the old convict buildings into luxury accommodation.

Always in good nick, Royal Hobart golf club is renowned for its quality of greens and bunkers. The course has hosted some of Australia’s most prestigious tournaments including the Australian Open.

An enjoyable and scenic course. The signature hole 3 is one of our most favourite holes in Australia. A par 5 dog leg that sweeps along a chasm. Try not to flirt with the edge too much, a ball safely placed on the right side of the fairway is a smart choice.

If you’re playing a round at Tasmania Golf Club and love oysters. A stop by Barilla Bay Oyster Farm on the way home is a must. The oysters are freshly shucked and you can opt to eat in or take a tray of 10,12 or 20 away with you.

The menu at Barnbougle Lost Farm is simple yet decadent. There’s a great selection of wine too and you can walk straight into their cellar to pick some vintage bottles if you so please. Not to mention it’s got one of the best golf course views in the world.

After a couple rounds at Barnbougle your body will thank you for taking the time out of your day to relax. Barnbougle spa has a range of wellness treatments and is the perfect way to relax after a day on the course.

Located only 5 mins away from Barnbougle, the Bunker Club is a local favourite and bookings are a must if you intend on dining here.

King Island’s unique microclimate of mineral rich soils, cool annual temperatures, abundant rainfall and consistent salt spray results in incredibly lush pastures. The cows graze on this salty grass, to produce a sweet, unusually rich milk. The milk, sourced from just a handful of local farms, is delivered fresh to King Island Dairy, every day.
